Electronic foursome Dead Ceremony are trying to put their finger on what love is in new single ‘Magic’. An unfurling ode to indescribable feelings, the Kent outfit manage to strike a balance between sweetly sentimental lyrics and ice cool production and in doing so, veer away from being cheesy. Instead, they put a modern spin on the traditional love ballad and an unexpected breakdown at the end hints of some seriously musicality, adding in extra sparks at the apex. Taken from their forthcoming EP Tell Me Lies out on 14th April, Dead Ceremony show that love doesn't have to be soundtracked by the same old slushy pop tracks. -SJ
